Public Safety and Commercial Applications
700 MHz band for multiple users
Spectrum's software defined radio (SDR) technology can bridge
between the disparate public safety networks as well as cross over
for use in commercial applications. Public safety system providers can use
our solutions to maximize use the limited
available frequency spectrum.
- Spectrum on demand: Support for cognitive radio functionality allows the
radio to sense its RF environment and location, and alter its power, frequency,
modulation and other operating parameters to dynamically use the available radio spectrum.
- Interoperable communications: One hardware configuration can support multiple waveforms applications
across multiple first responder frequency bands
- Operate in spectrally limited environments: Spectrum’s solution can support Multiple Input/Multiple Output (MIMO)
technology for improved performance in urban environments.
- Future-proof: The modular architecture eases technology refresh, allowing
replacement of partial components or upgrades done via software versus a
forklift upgrade to the entire system.
- Security: Spectrum uses standard interfaces that can connect to security subsystems
Cross Band Communications for First Responder Services:
Off-the-shelf "RF-to-Ethernet" Platform
Spectrum's Public
Safety Cross Band Communications platform is an
off-the shelf solution that is available today. The platform integrates a high performance
IF and baseband processing subsystem with two independent RF subsystems
operating at the following frequency bands:
- Ultra High Frequency (UHF) band (between 350-800 MHz)
- Public safety band (4.940 - 4.990 GHz)
