Spectrum’s integrated software defined radio platforms provide an ideal solution for our Software Radio Demonstrator Program for the Finnish Defence Forces. The availability of a commercial-off-the-shelf SDR platform, combining the necessary hardware and software development tools, will significantly shorten our development cycle and lower our project risk.

Wideband Networking Waveform (WNW) OFDM provides reliable, heterogenous, wireless packet-switched operations that are highly resistant to multipath dynamics that are common in a mobile environment. The waveform inherently offers good spectral containment and supports a diverse set of range requirements.

The WNW OFDM waveform is the ideal data link for backbone communications and use with the SDR-4000 is an important milestone for achieving waveform proliferation without extensive development costs thereby realizing one of the JTRS visions.

We chose Spectrum’s flexComm technology because of its industry leading signal processing performance, flexibility, and high standard of quality. Spectrum provided us with the enabling technology for satellite-based broadband access in a very short time frame. This will reduce our time-to-market as we expand our global network of satellite ground systems.
