Account Manager - Technical Field Sales

Spectrum Signal Processing is part of Vecima Networks Inc. Within the Vecima umbrella, Spectrum’s primary focus is to deliver leading edge software defined radios and other reconfigurable embedded systems to both commercial and military customers. The systems are deployed in applications such as satellite earth stations, air-to-ground communications systems, smart antennas, surveillance receivers, public safety gateways, and RADAR/sonar systems.

We have an exciting career opportunity for an experienced Field Sales professional to join our team. The successful candidate is an independent, highly motivated individual with a proven track record of achieving sales targets. The candidate would benefit from having a good understanding of wireless communications technologies, including broadband wireless applications. Government and Military application knowledge is desirable but not mandatory. The candidate must have experience selling to C-level executives in large commercial and/or military-based companies.

Required Work Experience, Skills and Knowledge:

  • 5+ years of full-cycle sales experience in selling highly technical/complex products
  • A proven track record of meeting and exceeding sales targets
  • Entrepreneurial and a self-starter; ability to work in a satellite office with minimal supervision
  • A true hunter with established prospecting skills
  • Experience selling and closing complex sales deals with multiple C-level stakeholders and decision makers
  • Utilizes strategic selling methodology with exceptional talent in closing and negotiation
  • Dynamic presentation capabilities and ability to clearly present technical information
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills (English)
  • Ability to travel based on the needs of the business is a requirement, up to 30%

Highly Desirable Skills and Knowledge:

  • Experience working in any of the following industries: defence, semiconductor, hightech
  • Experience with Software Defined Radio technology or other wireless communications applications

Education Required:

  • Post Secondary Diploma or Degree in a relevant field (Business, Sales)
  • Technical Diploma or Degree in a relevant field (Electrical Engineering, Computer Sciences) considered an asset

The chosen candidate must be able to travel to the US and abroad, and qualify to work in an environment governed by the Canadian Controlled Goods Program.
