CANSEC 2009: Live demonstration of APCO P25 waveform on the SDR-4000
]
Spectrum will be exhibiting its range of defence and security solutions at CANSEC 2009.
Visit Spectrum in Booth 3118 to see
the live over-the-air demonstration of APCO P25, a popular public safety waveform, run on Spectrum's SDR-4000.
The APCO P25 implementation, done by Communications Research Centre Canada (CRC), features the following:
» Modulation: Phase I – Continuous 4 level FM (C4FM)
» Bit Rate: 9.6 kbit/sec
» Channel Bandwidth: 12.5 kHz
» Modes of operation: Conventional

Public Safety Now Added to Expanding Library of Waveforms Supported by the SDR-4000
]
APCO P25 is the latest waveform to be supported by Spectrum's SDR-4000.
This waveform is the most popular and widely used public safety waveform
in North America. Supporting this waveform on a software reconfigurable radio
allows military and other users to more easily communicate with public safety personnel
to better coordinate joint emergency efforts.
The SDR-4000 has also been proven to support the following physical layer implementations:
» Wideband Networking Waveform Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (WNW OFDM)
» Soldier Radio Waveform Electronic Warfare (SRW EW)
» Single Channel Ground and Airborne Radio System (SINCGARS)
Adding a public safety waveform such as P25 lays the foundation for interoperability between military and civil agencies.
