Products
Spectrum's flexComm portfolio of products are the building blocks for your specific
signal processing requirements. We offer high performance, scalable,
rugged and semi-rugged
software defined radio transceiver platforms that can get you from
development to deployment of your applications for harsh or benign environments.
Our range of solutions include:
- Embedded Radio Modules:
the SDR-4800 family is based on System-on-Chip (SoC) and embedded RF technology
- Application-Specific Platforms:
Turnkey "RF/IF to Ethernet" solutions for rapid deployment
- 3U cPCI Solutions: the SDR-4000 is ideal
for size, weight and power constrained applications
with optional early support for
JTRS MHAL APIs for qualified customers
- 6U cPCI Solutions: the SDR-3000 is
ideal for applications requiring high channel count
- PCI/PCI-X Solutions: the SDR-2000 offers
a low priced platform ideal for development
- SDR for VME: the HCDR-1000 is an excellent
fit for legacy technology insertion
- Waveforms:
Physical layer implementations of military communications (MILCOM) and satellite communications (SATCOM) waveforms including key U.S. Joint Tactical Radio Systems (JTRS) and NATO waveforms
For your industrial high data rate, high processing density applications, we offer
Build Your Solution
Our mix-and-match hardware and software modules provide a
platform tailored to meet your stringent requirements. This approach allows upgradeability or
modification to the platform in the future, while protecting the bulk of your application
software code base. Our software reconfigurable platforms feature:
- Heterogeneous Processing - a combination of FPGAs, PowerPCs and DSPs, each optimized
for different types of algorithms
- Optimized Communications Infrastructure - different datapaths for different data types
- Serial RapidIO, Switched Ethernet, local PCI bus
- Layered Software Stack - choose your level of code portability / hardware performance.
Increase code portability and hardware abstraction with quicComm API, CORBA, TCP/IP, VSIPL,
SCA Core Framework
Use Spectrum's software development tools,
system integration and

for rapid prototyping of your custom application.
RoHS Directive
The European Union’s RoHS regulations (specifically EU Directive 2002/95/EC) ban placement
of electronic products on the EU market after 1 July 2006 if they contain more than allowable
thresholds of certain restricted substances, specifically lead (Pb), mercury (Hg), cadmium (Cd),
hexavalent chromium (Cr6+), flame retardants PBB (Polybrominated biphenyls) and PBDE
(polybrominated diphenyl ethers) in electronic components and devices.
Spectrum has established processes for the review, monitoring and modification of products
to comply with RoHS and similar legislation, as required, and as requested by Spectrum’s
customers. We work closely with our suppliers, both component suppliers and contract
manufacturers, to ensure we meet the needs of our customers, whether those needs be for the
commercial or the defense markets.
The term "RoHS 0 of 6" has been adopted for products that may contain any of the 6
restricted substances. The term "RoHS 5 of 6" has been adopted for products that contain
Pb but do not contain the other 5 substances banned by the directive.
