The SDR-4000 product family offers off-the-shelf hardware, software and services for development and deployment of black-side wireless modem solutions for Tactical Military Communications (MILCOM) systems. Spectrum has expanded this offering to including key MILCOM and SATCOM waveform physical layer software.

The SDR-4000 supports Spectrum’s quicSpin design methodology that enables rapid optimization of size, weight, power consumption, cost and ruggedization based on specific program requirements. For harsh environments, SDR-4000 cards are designed to support conduction-cooling, extended temperature range, and increased shock and vibration immunity.

The SDR-4000 comes with a standards-based software environment including Spectrum's quicComm™ hardware abstraction layer and software library, a real-time operating system with an integrated development environment, a CORBA Object Request Broker (ORB), optional SCA Core Framework, SCA development tools, and for qualified customers, an early support package option for the JTRS MHAL APIs. Also offered with a UHF SATCOM MIL-STD-188-181B or a Wideband Networking Waveform (WNW) OFDM physical layer waveform implementation.

Sensor Data Link Modem
System
A deployable IF-to-Ethernet modem solution for the radio data link between the ship and the remote sensor for littoral water surveillance applications. The Sensor Data Link Modem System consists of two sub-systems: a software defined radio modem transceiver subsystem for the shipboard radio gateway, and one or more remote sensor modem transceiver subsystems for the sensor radios. SDR-4000 SWM The SDR-4000 SATCOM Wireless Modem (SWM) forms a key element of a network-centric IP-based satellite communications system, providing modem, link and network layer processing. The SDR-4000 SWM has been architected to support the latest in satellite communications waveforms including Digital Video Broadcast (DVB/DVB-S2, DVB-RCS), MUOS and traditional legacy satellite waveforms including INTELSAT Business Services (IBS) and INMARSAT BGAN. SDR-4000 TMRDP The SDR-4000 TMRDP equips quick response teams with an integrated platform designed for the rapid development and deployment of Tactical Military Communications (MILCOM) applications. The SDR-4000 TMRDP integrates Spectrum’s SDR-4000 IF-to-Ethernet wireless modem with a DRTi high performance fast tuning RF transceiver in a single 19-inch rack. Datasheet

SDR-4000 WM The SDR-4000 Wireless Modem (WM) consists of an XMC-3321 dual transceiver module mounted onto a 3U PRO-4600 carrier card. Each wireless modem provides modem, link and network layer processing of a software defined radio. Datasheet

SDR-4000 WML (Lite) The SDR-4000 Wireless Modem Lite (WML) consists of an XMC-3321 dual transceiver module mounted onto a 3U PRO-4600 Lite carrier card. "Lite" refers to the version of PRO-4600 that supports a DSP and a GPP operating at a reduced speed of 400 MHz. Operating the GPP at a reduced speed results in a lower power requirement per slot compared to the standard PRO-4600. Datasheet
