HCDR-1020
TMS320C6203-Based High Channel Density Receiver System

The HCDR-1020 High Channel Density Receiver subsystem is designed
for high capacity signal acquisition and processing. This subsystem is ideal for applications that
require the ability to simultaneously tune to multiple narrowband or wideband signals, analyze
them, and subsequently demodulate and decode them before performing further processing.
The HCDR-1020 supports up to 32 channels of narrowband acquisition and processing per
VME slot with a powerful combination of Spectrum’s products based on Analog Devices A/D
converters, Graychip DDCs, Xilinx FPGAs, and Texas Instruments DSPs tied together with a high
performance Solano-based communications fabric. The HCDR-1020 data flow readily supports
4-element beam forming or direction finding algorithms, with up to eight real-time simultaneous
calculations per VME slot. Systems with more
than four antenna elements are easily
constructed using multiple HCDR-1020
subsystems. Larger systems like these can use
the Solano-based inter-board communications
fabric to support high-speed, deterministic,
pipelined processing across multiple boards.
