Platform
The run-time software architecture for C6201/C6701 products and subsystems is Spectrum's
Software Development Kit (SDK). Spectrum's SDK is the previous generation API offered,
and provides similar functionality to Spectrum's new API quicComm. SDK's exposes
the developer to all the features of the hardware without limiting or bogging you down
with the details.
Spectrum's C6x software architecture illustrates how the layers of the software stack
an directly access OS Services and Board Support Packages.
Algorithm
The application developer can also interface to third-party algorithms, allowing
different vendors to create algorithmic blocks for C6x processors that have a
consistent interface, and interoperate with each other.
O/S and Development Tools
The operating system currently offered for C6203/64x subsystems is Texas Instrument's DSP/BIOS.
The development environment is Code Composer Studio, which includes: an Editor,
Compiler/ Linker/Assembler, Parallel, source-level debugger and DSP/BIOS II.
