Soldier Radio Waveform (SRW) Electronic Warfare (EW) PHY Implementation on the SDR-4000

L-3 Communications Nova Engineering and Spectrum Signal Processing demonstrated L-3 Nova's Joint Tactical Radio System (JTRS) waveform software operating on Spectrum's SDR-4000 software defined radio platform.

L-3 Nova's SRW EW PHY implementation was a direct port from the Ground Mobile Radio (GMR) codebase. The implementation had a bandwidth of 1.2 MHz and used a BPSK or QPSK modulation scheme. Transmission security (TRANSEC) enabled users to turn the Advanced Encryption Standard (AES) on or off.

This was demonstrated at the MILCOM Conference on November 17-19, 2008 in San Diego, CA.
