Waveforms
Pre-Ported Physical Layer Waveform Software
Spectrum offers physical layer implementations of
military communications (MILCOM) and satellite communications (SATCOM)
waveforms, including key U.S. Joint Tactical Radio Systems (JTRS) and NATO waveforms.
Spectrum provides a selection of key
waveforms and waveform components that have been pre-ported to Spectrum's modem
platforms. This allows Spectrum to deliver integrated solutions that significantly
reduce technical risk, development cost and time to deployment in its customers'
radio programs.

| FM3TR
|
The Future Multiband Multiwaveform Modular Tactical Radio (FM3TR) waveform has been successfully ported to Spectrum's SDR-4000.
Researchers at UC San Diego division of Calit2 conducted the successful work under support from the U.S. JPEO JTRS program.
Calit2 researchers completed the port in just four months after receiving the SDR-4000 equipment.

Quotes
"The FM3TR project with Calit2 demonstrates that with [SDR] technology, an [SCA]-enabled waveform can be rapidly ported to an industry [COTS] system, such as Spectrum's SDR-4000."
Dr. Richard North
Technical Director for JPEO JTRS
"Spectrum offered a comprehensive solution that enabled us to begin our development immediately, while remaining on schedule
and on budget for the completion of the FM3TR port."
Bill Hodgkiss
Principal Investigator on the Calit2/JTRS SDR Project
"CRC selected the SDR-4000 because it provided the comprehensive hardware, software, and environment required for the P25 port."
Claude Belisle
VP Satellite Communications and Radio Propagation branch of CRC
"The ease of use with the SDR-4000 is an important milestone for achieving waveform proliferation without extensive development costs thereby realizing one of the JTRS visions."
