The SDR-4902 is an integrated solution that provides the RF and digital processing chain in a two card solution. Configured in a compact desktop air-cooled chassis, the SDR-4902 operates in the 200 MHz to 2.7 GHz frequency range, enable one system to support multiple bands based on your application. The system supports fast frequency hopping waveforms (up to 3000 hops/sec with 10:1 dwell-to-tune time ratio).

The SDR-4902 includes:

  • One RF-4902 high linearity wideband RF-to-Digital transceiver (200 MHz to 2.7 GHz)
  • One PRO-4600 baseband processor
  • A five-slot air-cooled desk-top cPCI chassis with power supply
  • Transition modules (TM2-4900) providing Gigabit Ethernet, JTAG and RS232 interface
  • quicComm software
  • ISE Foundation FPGA Tools (optional)
  • Code Composer Studio (optional)
  • Operating System and Integrated Development Environment (IDE) (optional)
  • Cables and documentation

The Software Communications Architecture (SCA) Core Framework, Development Toolset, and CORBA ORB can be integrated into the system as an option (for INTEGRITY OS version only, not available for VxWorks version). Implementing a Jammer Application on the SDR-4902

Electronic Countermeasures (ECM) encompass several types of systems, one of which is a jammer. A jammer is a device that emits RF energy to disrupt sensor signals, such as RADAR, or communication signals used by an enemy. Jammer systems range from simple noise emitters, such as barrage jammers, to more sophisticated systems such as deception repeaters. A growing area of interest is the Counter-IED application that jams communication signals used to activate improvised explosive devices (IEDs).

This application note shows how a generic jammer system, a system that can be used to detect, lock onto and jam threat signals emitted by an enemy, can be implemented on its SDR-4902 system.
